6.3 Little Falls Big Loop
First three miles on Capital-Crescent Trail and MacArthur are flat or downhill, then a steady to steep climb through Battery Kemble park (hard dirt surface) with a hilly finish along Mass Ave. back to starting point at Little Falls Pkwy. Meet at Little Falls Library (5501 Massachusetts Ave.).
Bethesda USUHS to Mormon Temple
7.3 miles of mostly flat paved paths starting at the baseball diamond at USUHS (corner of Stone Lake and Perimeter Rd.). Up Cedar Lane through Rock Creek to the Mormon Temple out and back. Mostly flat road run.
9 mile River Run to D.C.
“Figure 8” loop in the outskirts of Bethesda along the Potomac River. Meet at the Glen Echo Park parking lot (Oxford Rd.). A good portion of the run is along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal Towpath — to Palisades and up MacArthur Blvd., CC Trail and Massachusetts Ave.
Kentlands Loop Almost 5-miler
Starting at Kentlands Square and heading west around town via Quince Orchard to Lakelands. Lakelands Park is a great place to stop for drills. Meet at Whole Foods (316 Kentlands Blvd.).
7+ Miles Double Loop Kentlands to Senaca
Beautiful run in Kentlands neighborhoods and around Senaca’s trails via Longdraft. Some light hills. Meet at Not Your Average Joe's (245 Kentlands Blvd.).
11 Miles Around Gaithersburg Out And Back
Paved path, sidewalk and neighborhood streets. Rolling hills. Very safe. Meet at the southernmost corner of the RIO Washingtonian Center in the parking lot.
11.6 Mile Suburban Tour Run
Looooooong and scenic loop starting in North Potomac, heading north up Riffle Ford to Germantown and back via Great Senaca Hwy. Meet at the Westleigh Recreation Club (14900 Dufief Mill Rd. in North Potomac).
8 Miles Old Town - Mt. Vernon
Flat out and back run starting in Old Town, heading north up Mt. Vernon Trail along the water, and a quick stint on Four Mile Trail Run before turning around. Meet in front of Alexandria City Hall (301 King St.).
Old Town Waterfront to Bel Haven
5.7 miles out and back following Union St. and the Mt. Vernon trail along the water. Flat roads and pedestrian paths with interesting town and river scenery. Meet at Trader Joe’s (612 N St Asaph St.).
Alexandria — National Harbor
10 miles out and back from the city center across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Path and into National Harbor before turning around. Meet at Helen Miller/Bernard Hunter Park on the corner of N Fayette St. and Queen.
4 Miler Theodore Roosevelt Island
From Rosslyn across to TR Island and looping around the rough trails. We’ll do some additional short out and back springs on the island. Meet at the parking lot on the north end of 7-11 (1625 Wilson Blvd.).
9.62 Arlington — Glebe Park
We’ll head east on the Custis Trail before heading up in some pretty greenery areas around Potomac and Glebe Parks. Park and meet at the Key Bridge Marriott (1401 Lee Hwy) by the bridge.
4 mile Fairfax County Trail Out and Back
Sometimes a flat, shady trail is all you need. This follows the Accotink Creek from Pickett to Woodburn. Meet at the northernmost baseball diamond at Thaiss Park off Pickett Rd.
5.6 miles at Fairfax Villa Elementary School
5.6 miles starting at Fairfax Villa Elementary School (10900 Santa Clara Dr.) and making a big loop around George Mason University and downtown Fairfax. All on sidewalks; there are some light hills and some major intersections.
10 Mile Out and Back to Mosby
Mix of wooded trails and street running starting in downtown Fairfax and turning around at Mosby Woods Elementary School (via Old Lee Hwy). Park in the Farmers Market parking lot and meet in front of Wells Fargo on Main St.
